Feel Good February 2026

Christmas is over, the new year has begun, and school is back, which for most of us means life is meant to be “back to normal”. But after the silly season, finding that sense of normal can feel harder than we expect.
At Your Body Works, we love using this time of year to reset and introduce healthy challenges, something we’ve come to call Feel Good February. It’s a chance to focus on simple, realistic changes that support how our bodies and nervous systems function day to day. Throughout the month, our team will be sharing how they’re making small changes to support their body, diet, and mental health, and how chiropractic care can fit into that picture.

For me (Dr Hayley), my focus this February is on moving every day.
As a working mum of two toddlers, I know how hard it can be to find the time and energy to exercise. I love a yoga or Pilates class, and swimming is one of my favourite things to do for both my physical and mental health. But as my kids grow, finding the kid-free time to keep making it to my favourite classes is getting harder and harder.

So instead of pushing that aside, I’ve decided to give myself the challenge of moving every day with the kids. I’m thinking bush walks, at-home yoga sessions, or spontaneous dance parties in the living room. I also know how important it is for kids to see their parents being active and looking after their health — and waiting until they’re in bed to exercise isn’t always the example I want to set. Hopefully they might even want to get involved; I think my three-year-old would probably love yoga.

I’ll also be using this month to check in with my own body and see how I can best support it. I’m sure I’ll be popping in for adjustments with Christine or Alistair (or lining up at the end of a shift), but I might also need a massage, some acupuncture, or a session with an exercise physiologist if that’s what my body is asking for.

The intent of moving every day isn’t really about fitness for me. It’s about reconnecting with my own body and nervous system, noticing how I’m moving, how I’m feeling, and what I might need, especially in a season where so much of my attention is usually focused on patients or my kids.

Follow along on our socials throughout the month to see how I go, grab some ideas you might like to try yourself, or set your own Feel Good February challenge. Small, consistent steps really do add up.
